FOR STUDENTS
Student
Training, pre-k through 12 can be implemented in small or
large groups. Topics
include peer
mediation/relationships, values clarification, leadership
skills, violence prevention, and diversity training. Student
Training also can include participation in a county-wide
underage drinking prevention program, and involvement in an
education/community service program for middle and high
school girls.

- PreventionWorks
- This is a comprehensive custom-designed alcohol, tobacco, and other
drug education/ prevention program for schools located outside the
Washington metropolitan area. The program is based on each school's
schedule and student's needs and includes student input and
evaluation, analysis of local and school risk environment,
teaching/training teams comprised of master-level educators, MSWs and
certified addictions counselors, selected hand outs and resources,
faculty and parent training, and "booster sessions".

Services
- In response to numerous requests from
schools and families for counseling outside of the school setting, the
Family Support Center offers therapy for young people from FSC
counselors at the Family Support Center office in Bethesda, MD.
Since 1990, FSC has enjoyed successful
relationships with numerous independent and public schools throughout the
area and is a trusted and natural resource for treatment referral. The
relationships we have built provide a wonderful foundation to utilize the
Family Support Center as a resource for ongoing therapeutic services and
is a comfortable option for families seeking these services.
We are fortunate to have a diverse staff
who are experienced in providing an array of therapeutic services. Our
social workers, counselors, and therapists are trained and licensed to
work with individuals, couples, and families dealing with a variety of
issues such as adolescence, transitions, learning disabilities, alcohol
and drug addictions, sexuality, grief and loss issues, and social and
communication skills.
