SUPPORT CENTER
The Family Support
Center, a nonprofit, service organization, helps
both independent and public school staff and families prevent,
recognize, and overcome mental health and behavior problems in
children and adolescents from pre-kindergarten through grade twelve. The Center offers a full range of social
services to families and schools in the Washington metropolitan
area. Focusing on the child's behavior and performance as a vehicle
for identifying a problem related to mental health, alcohol or other
drug abuse, the Center's work supports healthy emotional growth and
development through educational programs, consultation, and
intervention.
The Family
Support Center is unique, because it is a single source of
integrated comprehensive professional services, including training
workshops, continuing education programs, in-school guidance
services, and clinical consultations to families, administrators,
teachers, and other school staff. All programs are flexible,
cost-effective, and tailored to the needs of each school community. As a United Way Campaign Participant, FSC joins a
respected list of organizations dedicated to improving the lives of
children and adults in need throughout the Washington, DC area and
beyond. Please consider FSC (designation #8428) when making
your United Way pledge. |
